I totally totally agree with Toni Kan's review of Revenant. Sick movie. Very visceral. Very gory. And it's a slaughterfest on a Tarantino proportion, the type also that reminds of Hobbesian brutishness. Thanks for emphasizing its brilliant depiction of the human capacity to endure. I recognized that aspect more deeply after reading about the movie; it cringes to figure that it's actually an aspect of northern American history.
I'm only offended with "This is heart of darkness transposed from the Congo to North America." An accurate and mesmerizing description but I'm suing on behalf of everyone disgusted by Joseph Conrad's Africa and the beastly assailants of Congo. ;)
Watch this movie, if you have the heart!
